St. Louis Cathedral Concerts
Hailing from South Florida, this Grammy nominated ensemble of 8 singers and 5 instrumentalists will perform Monteverdi’s “Selva morale e spirituale,” a piece written for the acoustics of St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice. “Seraphic Fire lived up its reputation as a taut, mellifluous force” Cleveland Plain Dealer. “One of the most-inventive and adventurous classical music ensembles in the country” South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Passion and Precision is the motto for these performers of exceptional range of vocal power and color. St. Louis area’s premier men’s a cappella chorus of more than 130 voices. Four-time International Champions under the direction of Dr. Jim Henry, Head of Choral Studies, UMSL. “…prominent for sheer inventiveness and brilliance of execution…” Philip Barnes, St. Louis Chamber Chorus.
An evening of great music with Scott Kennebeck, the ‘Voice of St. Louis,’ cantor for the Cathedral Basilica, soloist with American Kantorei, and Executive Director of Cathedral Concerts. Scott will perform with John Powel Walsh, a gifted accompanist and master of the Cathedral’s great Kilgen organ.
St. Louis’s own world-class orchestra, under the baton of Maestro David Robertson in his farewell year. Beloved by St. Louis Cathedral Concert audiences, SLSO will be a wonderful, bittersweet evening of great music!
