Blues & Blackhawks Put On Exciting Winter Classic & Alumni Games

The Blues and Chicago Blackhawks put on a great show in both the Alumni Game (New Year’s Eve) and the Winter Classic on January 2nd.

At the Alumni game, what started as a little friendly competition, quickly brought out the competitiveness of these greats. Hockey greats like Brett Hull, Al MacInnis, Adam Oates, Wayne Gretzky, Peter Stastny, Chris Pronger, Martin Brodeur, Pierre Turgeon and Keith Tkachuk graced the St. Louis bench. The Hawks bench included goaltender-turned-broadcaster Darren Pang, who was miked up for the game and provided some entertaining in-game commentary.

While the Winter Classic started off with a sour note (Hawks scored in the first minute or so), the Blues got their game together and never let the Hawks score again, with a 4-1 victory!

Many of the players had their smart phones with them and were taking pictures of their own, to commemorate the once-in-a-lifetime event.
